  • How is evil eye implementing the requirements of the Accessibility Act?

    Accessibility Statement

Accessibility means that all people – regardless of individual abilities or limitations – can use digital services without restriction. The goal is to provide all users with equal access to information, functions, and services.

As a privately-run company, our aim is to make our digital offerings as accessible as possible. We follow the requirements of the Accessibility Act (BaFG) in conjunction with Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services. The technical implementation is based on the criteria of the European Standard EN 301 549, version 3.2.1 – in particular, the guidelines of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA.

This accessibility statement applies to the following websites:

    www.silhouette.com

    www.evileye.com

    www.neubau-eyewear.com

Status of compatibility with the requirements
The websites mentioned above are currently only partially compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 (conformance level AA) and EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) due to the non-conformities and exceptions listed below.

    Non-accessible content
The following content is a selection of elements that are not accessible and the reasons why:

    Incompatibility with accessibility regulations

Keyboard navigation: Not all interactive elements, such as product filters, contact forms, or cookie settings, are accessible via keyboard. Skip links are partly missing. The focus order is not consistently logical.

Focus visibility: The keyboard focus is not or barely visible on several pages.

Alternative texts: Alt texts are missing or insufficient for product images, icons (e.g., wishlist), logos, and social media links.

Structure and headings: The heading structure on several pages is not meaningful or incomplete. Some forms are embedded as iFrames and lack accessible labeling.

Color contrast: Some texts and interactive elements do not meet the required contrast ratios, especially for text over images or in the header.

Zoom and text enlargement: Some content is not specified using relative units, and zooming in (>200%) leads to overlapping and limited usability.

Screen reader compatibility: Some content is read twice or not at all, ARIA roles are incomplete or incorrect. Some features (e.g., menus, filters) are only partially usable with VoiceOver or NVDA.

Multilingual content: English content is not always marked as such.

Video elements: Background videos do not stop automatically and cannot be manually deactivated.

    Disproportionate burden
Certain adaptations, such as a complete restructuring of the HTML semantics or a redesign of shop components – including some color contrast adjustments – currently constitute a disproportionate burden as defined by Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102. Nonetheless, continuous improvements are being implemented!

    Creation of this accessibility statement
This statement was created on June 25, 2025, based on a basic audit conducted in April 2025 by external auditors (APPtimal/margenta). The detailed review covered the homepage, product overview pages, and the contact page.

    Feedback and contact information
If you notice additional barriers on our websites or require information in an accessible format, please contact us at:

    service.en@evileye.com

We strive to respond to all inquiries promptly.

    Enforcement procedure
If you do not receive a satisfactory response to your accessibility request, you may contact the arbitration body in accordance with § 14 BaFG:
    Arbitration Board for Disability Equality
Federal Ministry of Social Affairs – National Office for Accessibility

  • How does the Virtual Try-On tool work?

You've seen some sports glasses you like. Now you can try them on virtually on our website. It's a great way to get to know our extensive product range and to find out which of our various models suit you the best.

To do a Virtual Try-On, take a video of your face using the camera on your device (desktop PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone). Make sure that you follow the instructions on how to move your face. You'll also be asked to hold a standard-sized credit card in front of your face (this is an optional step that you can skip) — please use the reverse side of the card so the camera doesn't capture your personal information. Putting the credit card in the frame ensures that the eyewear are displayed in the right size. Now you're all set to try on models from our wide range of sport glasses that are available to try with our Virtual Try-On tool.

  • How can I access the camera?

The Virtual Try-On tool will ask your permission to use your camera. Once you have granted permission, the tool will use the camera on your device.

  • Where can I find the Virtual Try-On tool on evileye.com?

You can find the Virtual Try-On tool on the evil eye website. In addition, all products that can be tried on virtually can be identified by an icon. You can also access the tool via the product page of any item with Virtual Try-On capability.

  • Can Virtual Try-On footage be downloaded as an image?

Yes, the Virtual Try-On tool allows you to download the video footage as an image.

  • Can Virtual Try-On footage be saved?

You can view the video recording in your user account for 1 year after it has been taken. However, this depends on the availability of your user account (which varies depending on your country) or whether you have accepted browser session cookies with a duration of 90 days. This happens automatically as soon as you re-start the Virtual Try-On process. The process works with session cookies provided that the cookies stored via your browser have not been deleted in the meantime. You can delete the video at any time. Our software provider ditto Technologies Inc. stores data on their servers for 2 years. You can ask our software provider to delete your data at any time by revoking your consent.

  • Why do I need a credit card for the video?

The credit card is used to help scale the eyewear so that they are displayed on the face in the right size.

  • How can the video quality be improved?

Please ensure that you take the video in a bright, well-lit place. You will also achieve better results in the video if your hair is pulled back and your ears are visible. Look directly into the camera on your device and follow the instructions guiding you through the Virtual Try-On process.

  • How realistic are the glasses in the Virtual Try-On?

The sport glasses and colours are displayed in a realistic way. There may be minor differences due to the way different screens are set up.

  • Can you see at a glance which products can be tried on virtually?

There is an icon that shows which products have a Virtual Try-On option.

  • Where can I get help if I encounter any technical problems?

If you have any problems when using the Virtual Try-On, please get in touch with us via our contact form.

  • How can I contact evil eye?

If you would like to contact our online shop with any questions related to your order, delivery, payment, products, etc., please email us: service.en@evileye.com
